My wife and I visited this spot in August 2002. We stayed the night in
Raymond, Alberta at a Bed and Breakfast, and went out the next morning to
see the park. We went via Coutts on a road just to the north of the US Border. From this viewpoint we were able to get a good look at the Sweet Grass Hills,
which are actually located in Montana. We then circled around and came to the park
from the East, passing not far from the border outpost at Aden, Alberta.
When we arrived at the park we obtained tickets for the bus tour to view the inscriptions.
The guided tour was at 1:00 in the afternoon. It was a bright sunny day so we were lucky enough
to see several snakes sunning them selves on the road, including a rather large rattle
snake.
Because the site is located inside a Provincial Park, it is easily
reached on a well paved road. There are some facilities and services
on site including camping, but there are also restrictions on where
one can wander. Certain places are off limits to public.
