James River, North Dakota

We visited this area in October 2007. The images that are shown here are of the James River in Jamestown. Also shown are a number of the hills to the west, this is where the circle of points actually runs. These hills are dotted with small lakes that are teeming with wildlife. In times past these hills were the source of sustenance for the aboriginal peoples. There was ample buffalo and other game and the valleys were good places to plant. The Dakota peoples lived there until they were pushed aside by the tide of white settlers.

Today the abundance of this land is apparent in the verdant crops that is grown there by the farmers that till this land today.
