May 8, 2004:
| The trip to Grants New
Mexico was one we shall never forget. It was very inspirational
and felt wonderful to take part in this most important
event. Below are some photos we took while we were there. |

"The Reunion of Mother Earth with Her
Children," part of the overall May 8 Medicine Wheel,
will be held on the flank of Mount Taylor all day Saturday,
May 8, starting well before Sunrise. To get to the ceremonial
grounds, take Exit 85 off of I-40 to Grants, NM, and get
on to old Route 66 into downtown Grants. Drive straight
through town on Route 66, then take a right onto First St.
At the end of First St., go right to the first stop light.
At the light go left onto Lobo Canyon Rd. Follow Lobo Canyon
Road up the mountain for about 12 miles. You will see the
site near the side of the road. As of Friday afternoon May
7, there will be a trail of Turquoise-colored ribbons showing
the way from Grants up the mountain to the ceremonial site.
There will be parking, and limited camping. The camping
is primitive -- no water or other facilities. Bring wood
if you wish. There are many motels and public campgrounds
available nearby in Grants, NM. If you wish to stay in one,
please make your own contacts and arrangements.(Note: The
4Bs Restaurant in Grants is open 24/7. Great chow.)
We will have a view of the summit of Turquoise
Mountain from the ceremonial grounds. Traditional dress
preferred.
